Overview and HistoryThe club was formed in 1991 by a group of people who had worked with machinery in Northland doing road construction, water and wastewater installation, farm development, and all other works using a range of machinery from small farm tractors up to large earthmoving machines. In 1992 the club secured material from the demolition of the glass works building in Whangarei and a substantial building was built which housed the collection of machines and allowed an area where restoration work took place. All of the machines in the club’s collection have been donated by their previous owner and restored to their former glory by club members. As time has gone on and the collection has grown further display buildings have been erected. Most of the machines were built during the period from 1920 to 1960, with some items in the collection being over 100 years old. Examples are International firewood saw 1907, Fordson F 1917, Overhead gantry 1914. For more information on the history of the northland vintage machinery club and it's construction visit this page
